Dental plaque is bonded to teeth due to a positive charge created by the saliva. The IONPA electronic toothbrush changes this charge and breaks the bond, loosening plaque and making it easier to brush away.
IONPA challenges the myth “more strokes means cleaner teeth” with a new guideline of 22,000 strokes. While more comfortable and gum-friendly than most electric toothbrushes, combined with our ionic technology, which depolarizes and loosens its bond, plaque is easily removed with gentler brushing.
All IONPA brushes have a Smart Timer function. The Smart Timer pauses every 30 seconds, three times in every two-minute session, to remind the user of the recommended two-minute optimal brushing time.
Different modes are available for ideal periodontal care, Clean, White+, GumCare and HiClean.

While professor Yuichi Izumi, a pioneer in periodontal disease studies in Japan, treated his patients, he dreamt of a toothbrush that treated teeth and gums carefully and gently, like a manual toothbrush. He took his ideas to the IONIC Corporation, the leading ionic toothbrush company, based in Chiba, Japan. The company had sold over 2 million ionic tooth brushes over its 40-year history, and with professor Izumi, developed a brand-new sonic action toothbrush, which they named IONPA. By adding ion power to a gentle, therapeutic sonic action, a synergy occurs. The ionic effect efficiently depolarizes and thus, loosens plaque’s grip on the tooth surface, allowing for easy removal with the gentle pulsations of the IONPA handle. IONPA does more to clean teeth, and does it more easily, than either manual or electric brushing alone.
Studies prove that IONPA cleans more plaque below the gumline (as much as 196% versus manual*).
